To build a traditional french chalet from hemplime, which would harmoniously fit into the surrounding landscape – that was the task of this project. Immediately, difficulties arose with the coordination of the use of a new, unknown material in the local construction department: officials did not understand what kind of material it was and how it would look. The house was designed by a local architect and the materials for the construction were supplied from France, this helped to reduce the costs of delivering materials. Hempire acted as a consultant on this site, most of the work was performed by a local team and the clients of the house. As the result,  a beautiful energy-efficient  hemplime home was built on the marvelous slopes of the Alps. An ability of hemplime to regulate relative humidity inside the dwellings  is particularly important in the region with sharp changes in temperature and humidity.
